Learn how to set up Turnitin assignments in your Canvas course. Turnitin functions within the SU instances of Canvas, and can be associated with a Canvas assignment to check submitted documents against its database and other websites in order to identify plagiarism. Results can identify similarities with existing sources, and can also be used in formative assessment to help students learn to avoid plagiarism and improve their writing. Turnitin is a commercial, Internet-based plagiarism-detection service launched in 1997.
