Hurricane Matthew Disaster Relief Trip

January 16

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until January 19, 2019

Hurricane Matthew Disaster Relief Trip is from January 13th through January 19th (one week prior to the start of Spring 2019 semester) in North Carolina. Join Spiritual Life for a week of serving and rebuilding the North Carolina Beach area that has been affected by Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane Matthew made landfall in the Fall of 2016, affecting 2,306 homes and a countless number of families. Natural disaster relief is often a slow rebuilding process and takes many years for it to be officially finished. We will be working with the United Methodist Committee on Relief doing various construction projects to help rebuild homes of Hurricane Matthew victims. Don’t have much experience with home repair and construction? That’s okay! All levels of experience are welcomed and everyone will have something to do.
