Lunch and Learn: Recognizing Native American Perspectives–Thanksgiving and the National Day of Mourning

November 21, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Lunch and Learn: Recognizing Native American Perspectives–Thanksgiving and the National Day of Mourning What do we know about the “First Thanksgiving”? How, if at all, are our perspectives on Thanksgiving shaped by the experiences of Native American people, past and living? In this Lunch and Learn session on Thanksgiving and the National Day of Mourning, participants will analyze a primary source to learn about a Native American’s perspective on the arrival of the Pilgrims and discuss differing viewpoints about the significance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Join the conversation in BSC 118 on Monday, November 21st at 12 p.m. to learn more! We will provide light refreshments, but feel free to bring your own lunch. We will also be sending a group order link to those who register for the event so you can purchase a Jimmy Johns lunch that we will pick up for you! Register here. For more information, please contact Marco Pflanzen at marco.pflanzen@su.edu or at 540-535-3546.
