Join Jonathan A. Noyalas, ’01, M.A., director of Shenandoah University’s McCormick Civil War Institute (MCWI), for MCWI’s January online series which explores various aspects of the Civil War era in the Shenandoah Valley. The three-part series begins on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m. (EST) with “Kindred Will all be Divided”: The Eastern Panhandle on the Eve of Civil War. On Thursday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. (EST) Noyalas presents “An Expression of… Helplessness”: Sigel, Hunter, and the Lower Valley’s Civilians in May 1864. The series concludes on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. EST with “That this War May Soon Come to an End”: Perspectives on the Meaning of Union Victory in the Shenandoah Valley, Autumn 1864.
