McCormick Civil War Institute Online Series Join Jonathan A. Noyalas, MA ’01 director of Shenandoah University’s McCormick Civil War Institute (MCWI) for a three-part online series exploring aspects of the postwar era in the Shenandoah Valley. All sessions will occur via Zoom and begin at 7 p.m. EST. While this event is free donations to MCWI are certainly appreciated. Topics and sessions are as follows: Tuesday, January 10: “They Come Not with Fire and Sword: Sheridan’s Veterans, Reunion, and Reconciliation’s Limits; Thursday, January 12: “Outlived the Odium: Grand Army of the Republic Posts in the Shenandoah Valley; Tuesday, January 17: “Like a Bird Let Out of a Cage: African Americans in the Postwar Valley.” Please email jnoyalas01@su.edu no later than January 5, 2023, to sign up.
