NJWC Clothesline Project

March 27, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

NJWC Clothesline Project The Clothesline Project will take place on March 27th from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and on March 28th from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. in the Brandt Student Center. The Clothesline Project is a national campaign started in 1990 to address the issue of violence against women. It is a visual display of art created on t-shirts by survivors of physical, sexual and emotional violence to express their feelings and stories of abuse and survival. The shirt is then hung on a clothesline to be viewed by the public as testimony to the problem of interpersonal violence and to let those who may suffer in silence know that they are not alone. The [Not Just] Women’s Center invites you to make a shirt for yourself or in honor of someone else. They will be displayed on the quad, on Wednesday, 4/12. The Clothesline Project is a visual display that bears witness to effects of sexual violence on our community. For more information, contact thenjwc@su.edu.
