Out Of The Darkness Campus Walk For Suicide Prevention
April 24 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Out Of The Darkness Campus Walk For Suicide Prevention The Out of the Darkness Campus Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 24. This year, Shenandoah is participating in a virtual walk and forum with other schools in Virginia. The event is a great way to meet others passionate about ending suicide, both within and outside of the SU community. There are no registration fees, but participants are encouraged to set a minimum fundraising goal of $100.
Suicide is estimated to be the second-leading cause of death among college-age Americans, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. An estimated 15 percent of young adults suffer from depression and other mental disorders that put them at risk for suicide. That is why Shenandoah University and Winchester’s Concern Hotline are participating in and promoting the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk.
