Post-sabbatical Colloquium Talk: Developing and delivering an iTunes-U course for First Year Seminar

February 1, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

What happens on sabbatical doesn’t stay on sabbatical.

Today’s presentation: Diane Painter, Associate Professor, SEHD will present “Developing and delivering an iTunes-U course for First Year Seminar (FYS).”  RSVP HERE.

Held in Smith 318. Attendees should bring an iPad or laptop to participate fully. Complimentary wine and cheese will  be served.

Abstract: Learn how a multi-touch iBook and the iTunes-U course entitled, Please Accept Me for Who I Am was developed to actively engage First Year Seminar students in learning about the three dimensions behind disability oppression. Through this iTunes-U course, students worked at a self-pace, kept a reflective journal, and in the end, developed a philosophy statement that included ideas for promoting a more just and humane society of inclusion for persons with disabilities.
