SCiL Lab Hosts Symposium On Virtual Reality’s Role In The Future Of Learning
November 14 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
SCiL Lab Hosts Symposium On Virtual Reality’s Role In The Future Of Learning is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the SCiL Lab located in the basement of the Health & Life Sciences Building. The symposium focuses on the place of virtual reality (VR) in the future of learning and workforce preparedness, and the potential for VR uses in the field of mental health. The symposium includes a conversation with the actors and crew of “The Mind of a Teen Shooter.” The “Mind of a Teen Shooter” is a piece that looks at the raw tragedy of school shootings, both objectively and emotionally, from 360-degrees, to delve into the causes of these catastrophic events and to help identify solutions. SCiL seeks to educate the audience about how to recognize the potential for a school shooting. Additionally, demonstrations of faculty and student VR apps, ranging from a virtual debate stage to civil rights and medical simulations, are available in the SCiL studio. This event is free to attend. Please direct questions and RSVPs to Joanne Ruseclla at firstname.lastname@example.org.
