Celebrate the completion of SCiL’s Wilton House VR project on Oct. 3 from 1-3 p.m. in the Collaboratory of the HIVE. Guests of honor, Dr. Joe Rizzo and the Wilton House Museum Team, will travel from Richmond, VA to celebrate the project’s launch and join a discussion about immersive learning and it’s educational applications to history. 

Wilton House VR will be available to view in the SCiL lab, and guests will have the opportunity to meet the staff and students who worked to create this beautiful experience.

Wilton House VR is a recreation of a historically significant colonial-era plantation on it’s original grounds near Richmond, VA. Wilton House was moved in the 1930’s and restored on a new site, leaving the original 2,000-acre property to nature. Our two VR recreations allow museum visitors to explore the plantation as it would have been in 1785 and again in the 1930s, just before the house was disassembled and moved.
