Shenandoah Lights Up The Night Fireworks Display
May 1 @ 9:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Shenandoah University is hosting the fireworks for the 94th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. Shenandoah Lights Up the Night Fireworks Display is scheduled at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 1. As a member of the university community, you are invited to view the fireworks on campus or around town with family and friends, all while adhering to the CDC’s guidelines regarding mask usage and social distancing.
Because the fireworks will be set off in the parking lot of Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre, we ask that you do not sit on or near the OBT lawn or parking lot. We will plan to close the OBT/Ruebush parking lot Friday night and we’ll be removing the OBT tent on Friday.
The road connecting OBT with HLSB (Wade Miller Drive) will be closed an hour or two before the show. University Drive will remain open throughout the evening.
Good viewing spots on campus include Sarah’s Glen, the armory parking lot, the D Lot outside the Brandt Student Center, and the Brandt Student Center parking garage, although any spot on campus will offer a great view of the fireworks unless signage indicates otherwise.
There is the possibility that Shenandoah might need to close the campus to the general public on the night of the show and limit attendance to just our internal community. In case this happens, please bring your SU student, faculty or staff ID with you.
A rain date is set for Sunday, May 2.
