Spirituality and Health Lecture Series
September 25 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing are kicking off a Spirituality and Health Lecture Series to raise awareness of the importance of addressing the whole person (mind, body, spirit) in the care of patients. The lecture will be given both at Winchester Medical Center Grand Rounds and at the Cecil Pruitt, Jr. Health and Life Sciences Building Rotunda on the main campus of Shenandoah University on Sept. 25 from 3-4 p.m.
Dr. Donna Chacko, a distinguished physician and author, will be the featured speaker at this event. With a diverse and fascinating background, Dr. Chacko began her medical career as a radiation oncologist before transitioning to family medicine. Now practicing as a family physician, she embraces a “whole person” approach to care, addressing both the physical and emotional well-being of her patients. Dr. Chacko is also the author of Pilgrimage: A Doctor’s Healing Journey, a reflection on her personal and professional growth.
Refreshments will be provided. For more information, please contact Dr. Mark Johnson at mjohnson@su.edu.
