Turnitin-Enabled Canvas Assignments for Faculty
August 6, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Held in Smith Library 318 or remotely. For Remote Attendance: Email rbrugger2@su.edu.
Please bring your laptop. Feel free to bring snacks or lunch. Register Here.
For faculty and instructional assistants. Turnitin is an electronic text matching system that compares text in a student assignment against a database of sources. It is not a plagiarism detection system, per se, since it does not evaluate the inclusion or accuracy of citations; Turnitin finds text that matches other sources and creates a Similarity Report to help you make informed evaluations of student work and discern if the student needs instruction, correction or judicial action. Topics include:
- Creating a Turnitin-enabled Canvas assignment
- Reviewing the Similarity Report
- Grading with Speedgrader (Canvas) vs. Feedback Suite (Turnitin)
