Turnitin in Canvas Assignments Faculty Workshop

March 4, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This Turnitin in Canvas Assignments workshop for faculty will be in Smith Library Room 318, or remotely via Zoom. Please Register Here.

Turnitin is an electronic text matching system that compares text in a student assignment against a database of sources. It is not a plagiarism detection system per se, because it does not evaluate the inclusion or accuracy of citations and references; Turnitin just finds text that matches other sources and shows them to you in an Originality Report, which helps you make informed evaluations of student work and discern if the student needs instruction, correction or judicial action.

Covered in this session:

– Creating a Canvas assignment using Turnitin
– Canvas assignment options
– Turnitin options
– Grading with Speedgrader (Canvas) vs. Feedback Suite (Turnitin)

Please bring your laptop. For remote attendance, please use this CTLT Zoom Workshop Link, which you will also receive by email when you register.

If you have questions about this CTLT workshop, please contact Robin Brugger or George Hoffman.
