Turnitin in Canvas Faculty Workshop

January 14, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

This faculty workshop for using Turnitin in Canvas Assignments will be in Smith Library room 318 or remotely via Zoom at zoom.us/my/suctlt.  Please Register Here.

Turnitin is an electronic text matching system that compares text in a student assignment against a database of sources. It is not a plagiarism detection system per se, since it does not evaluate the inclusion or accuracy of citations; Turnitin finds text that matches other sources and creates a Similarity Report to help you make informed evaluations of student work and discern if the student needs instruction, correction or judicial action.

Topics covered include:

  • Creating a Turnitin-enabled Canvas assignment
  • Reviewing the Similarity Report
  • Grading with Speedgrader (Canvas) vs. Feedback Suite (Turnitin)

If you have questions about this CTLT workshop, please contact Robin Brugger or George Hoffman
