DESCRIPTION:Home » Events\n\n\n\nChildren’s Literature Conference\n\n\n\n\nShenandoah University’s McCormick Civil War Institute invites the community to the 162nd Anniversary Commemoration of the Battle of Cool Spring on Saturday\, July 18\, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Shenandoah University’s River Campus at Cool Spring Battlefield\, 1400 Parker Lane\, Bluemont\, Virginia. The event will begin at the Lodge. This year’s special program\, “Coming Like a Meteor”: Artillery at Cool Spring\, is free and open to the public. Jonathan Noyalas will lead a walking tour focused on the role of artillery during the battle. The event will also feature an immersive\, hands-on artillery experience with historian Alan Robertson.
