Thanks to a Garden Club of America grant\, the museum’s vegetable gardens have been revitalized and are now ready for harvest. No gardening experience is necessary; just wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Volunteers are welcome to participate once or throughout the season. The event will begin at the Lodge. This year’s special program\, “Coming Like a Meteor”: Artillery at Cool Spring\, is free and open to the public. Jonathan Noyalas will lead a walking tour focused on the role of artillery during the battle. The event will also feature an immersive\, hands-on artillery experience with historian Alan Robertson. To qualify\, applicants must be juniors or seniors\, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA\, have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file\, and demonstrate involvement in campus organizations or leadership. Up to two students will receive the award as part of their financial aid package. Applications must be submitted online by Wednesday\, July 15.
