Over the past several years we have been able to rebuild SU’s motion analysis laboratory with an 8 camera Vicon motion analysis system. I have redirected my research into investigations into running mechanics and human motion. We have had several great projects looking at kinematic changes associated with type of shoe (barefoot/minimal) and are working on a project to define overstriding in runners.
I am married to the former Brenda Smith and have 3 children, Jason, Mckenzie, and Alec. Brenda is an accomplished runner and competes nationally and internationally with the Air Force team. Jason recently graduated from college and is in the Army, currently stationed at Ft. Benning, Mckenzie is headed to Radford Univ. to run track and field, and Alec is a nationally ranked distance runner and currently a high school sophomore.
