Professional Highlights:
Dr. Loriann Helgeson holds a post-professional doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She currently serves as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for a newly developing entry-level OT doctoral program in WA. She has held positions as a program director of a post-professional OTD program, founding program director of an OTA program and as a clinician working in acute care, in -patient rehab, and home health care. Dr. Helgeson holds a credential as a Leader in Academia from AOTA. She has published in AJOT and JOTE and presented at AOTA and state conferences. She currently serves on AOTA’s Disciplinary Council. She also enjoys mentoring others both formally through AOTA’s New Educator Mentor Program and informally. Dr. Helgeson served as the Local Conference Committee Chair for the AOTA’s Salt Lake City Conference and Expo in 2018, which has been a highlight of her career.
Personal Highlights:
Dr. Helgeson is married and has two grown sons. She enjoys the outdoors, gardening, and knitting in her spare time. She currently resides in Spokane, WA, after relocating from Salt Lake City, UT in 2020.
