Division of Education and Leadership Scholarship
Students admitted to any SU Bachelor of Education program in the Division of Education and Leadership may apply for this scholarship. Scholarship applicants must submit an essay, a statement of financial need, and a letter of recommendation. Preference will be given to student(s) who have completed Teachers for Tomorrow coursework for dual-enrollment credit through Shenandoah University.
Each scholarship will be awarded to a student for four years; disbursed in the amounts of $2,000 in year one, and $1,000 in years two through four. Scholarships will be awarded beginning in the Fall to students who matriculate to the university as a major in elementary, middle, or secondary teaching in the Bachelor of Education degree program. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Diversity is defined by Virginia law as: “. . . the wide range of differences among groups of people and individuals based on ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, gender, exceptionalities, language, religion, and geographical area.”
These generous scholarships are made possible through a gift from The Center for Islam in the Contemporary World (CICW) beginning in the Fall of 2021.
