Most hospitals and healthcare facilities rely on volunteers to help with intake, monitoring phones, and administration. Valley Health is no exception. There are a variety of volunteer needs as well as temporary part-time, paid opportunities. The major needs are:
- Information Desks
- Answer phones
- Monitor guest traffic, screen and direct visitors
- Help with Nutrition Services to deliver foods
- Answer phones at call center
- Administrative type duties

Description of Service Project: The Virginia Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a force of dedicated volunteers who stand ready to support the community in the event of a public health emergency. Each of the 27 local MRC units is comprised of teams of medical and public health professionals who, along with interested community members, volunteer their skills, expertise and time to support ongoing public health initiatives and assist during emergencies throughout Virginia.

Highland Food Pantry
Donation needs: Peanut butter, mac & cheese, canned tuna, canned chicken, canned veggies
Donation times: Tues: 8-9am, 5-6pm; Mon: 9am-12pm
Location: 446 Highland Ave, Winchester. Park in the lot of Highland Memorial Presbyterian Church. If someone isn’t present, go to the door near the basement and holler.

Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging
Donation needs: cans of tuna fish, low-sodium soups, small jars of peanut butter, rolls of toilet paper or paper towels, bottles of soap or disinfectant wipes or spray
Location: Call SAAA at 540-635-7141 to make arrangements for food and supplies to be picked up or to deliver to the office.
