Craig Fraedrich, Director
Jazz in Uniform: A Tribute to Musicians Who Served
The Little Big Band remembers musicians who have served in a special concert honoring veterans, and featuring the music of jazz artists who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Shenandoah Conservatory Little Big Band Director Craig Fraedrich leads audiences through an evening of music that includes tributes to John Coltrane (U.S. Navy), Wayne Shorter (U.S. Army), Oliver Nelson (U.S. Marines) and Glenn Miller (U.S. Army Air Corp.), among others. The evening also features Fraedrich’s own arrangements and adaptations of The National Anthem and Stars and Stripes Forever. Fraedrich spent over thirty-one years serving as a featured jazz trumpet soloist with The U.S. Army Blues, the premier jazz ensemble of the U.S. Army.
