|The Shenandoah Conservatory Jazz Ensemble kicks off the 2019 Jazzathon and celebrates the legacy of Winchester’s own John Kirby during this year’s 2019 Jazzathon event. Presented in partnership with the NAACP of Winchester and Old Town Winchester, the John Kirby Day Celebration honors the contributions of Winchester-born jazz musician John Kirby.
The Jazzathon provides an opportunity for students to perform together, try out new material and perform in Winchester-area venues. Donations are gratefully accepted at each event, and funds raised are used toward guest artists and student performance travel.
