Members of the Van Buren Winds present their fall concert featuring an array of works for chamber winds and welcoming the ensemble’s newest member, Assistant Professor of Flute Julietta Curenton. Program highlights include the U.S. premiere of Finnish award-winning composer Cecilia Damström’s Helene for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and Piano, op.74, as well as works by Joan Tower and Valerie Coleman. Damström’s works are known for their deep exploration into many of the most challenging themes of our time.
