Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM)
The Studio Big Band celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) with an exciting concert featuring a special guest and music by artists born in 1925, including B.B. King, Sammy Davis Jr., Celia Cruz, Charlie Byrd, Oscar Peterson and more. JAM was created in 2001 to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary heritage and history of jazz for the entire month of April. It is intended to encourage people of all ages to participate in jazz — to study the music, attend concerts, listen to jazz on radio and recordings, read books about jazz and more.
