PERFORMING ARTS LIVE
Tuesday, February 6 at 7PM
Wednesday, February 7 at 7PM
Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater (SPDT) creates dance theatre for the heart and mind. The highly physical choreography, emotional vocabulary and stunning theatrical landscapes tell poetic stories of love, loss and the need for connection. Beyond the stage, the company has a deep commitment to inclusive community engagement and has been lauded as a “National Model” by The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.In advance of their performances, SPDT spends a week in Winchester, working with students, health practitioners, caregivers and community members to explore the power of the arts to reveal our own humanity and transform our thinking. The company’s culminating performances feature members of our campus and community in an evening of works that span the company’s 40-year history.
This residency is made possible by a partnership between Shenandoah Conservatory and Shenandoah University’s Dance Division, School of Health Professions and Center for Public Service and Scholarship.
This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
