DESCRIPTION:Pre-concert Talk with the Choreographers\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGoodson Chapel – Recital Hall \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKayleen Sánchez\, soprano & Paul Sánchez\, piano\n\n\n\nRenowned soprano Kayleen Sánchez\, celebrated for her rich tone and dynamic stage presence\, and acclaimed pianist and composer Paul Sánchez\, known for his expressive artistry and innovative compositions\, join Shenandoah Conservatory faculty and students for we dream starlight\, an evocative guest recital that traces humanity’s enduring fascination with night\, dreams and the cosmos through an intimate exploration of art song. \n\n\n\nSpanning centuries and styles — from Dowland\, Schubert\, Fauré\, Debussy\, Barber and the Schumanns to Kaija Saariaho\, Florence Price\, Margaret Bonds\, Eric Whitacre and new works by Paul Sánchez — the program unfolds as a poetic journey through solitude\, wonder\, grief\, love and transcendence. Interweaving art song\, chamber music and spoken poetry\, we dream starlight invites audiences to experience music as reflection\, ritual and shared contemplation\, illuminated by the voices of today’s emerging and established artists. \n\n\n\nShenandoah Conservatory’s Collaborative Arts: Voice & Piano initiative is a special three-day residency featuring masterclasses and panel discussions delving into the vital collaborative relationship between vocalist and pianist.
