Recognized by Chamber Music America for their innovative work\, this dynamic sextet — featuring flute\, clarinet\, violin\, cello\, piano and percussion — is dedicated to commissioning and performing bold new music that amplifies diverse voices and stories within today’s musical landscape. \n\n\n\nThe evening’s program features recent works by a vibrant group of contemporary composers\, including Kirsten Volness’s Pass the Torch!\, Alexandra T. Bryant’s atmospheric Lullaby\, Jeffrey Mumford’s richly textured within deep and cavernous resonances . . . layered memories unfolding and Nathan Lincoln-DeCusatis’s striking ANIMAL. Together\, these works create a sonic landscape that moves from intimacy and reflection to urgency and raw physical energy\, highlighting the ensemble’s commitment to storytelling through sound. \n\n\n\nBased in the Maryland–Washington\, D.C.\, region\, Balance Campaign frequently collaborates with local musicians and composers to spotlight the area’s distinctive musical ecosystem. This performance offers audiences an immersive journey into the evolving world of contemporary chamber music\, where experimentation\, collaboration and new artistic voices take center stage. \n\n\n\nAll of this unfolds in the Bright Box Theater\, Winchester’s intimate\, cocktail-table-style venue where every seat is the best in the house.
