Known for his expressive artistry and wide-ranging musical voice\, Davin joins these exceptional collaborators for an afternoon celebrating the guitar in all its versatility. From intimate solo works to dynamic chamber collaborations\, this special recital sets the stage for a weekend of world-class music-making. \n\n\n\nThe program features a diverse and vibrant musical journey\, including Leo Brouwer’s arrangement of Lennon and McCartney’s The Fool on the Hill for two guitars\, Clarice Assad’s evocative Macunaíma and Radamés Gnattali’s rhythmically rich Suíte popular brasileira for guitar and piano. We invite you to take an exclusive sneak peek BEHIND THE CURTAIN in our educational exploration series! On this informative and interactive guided tour\, you will experience: \n\n\n\n\na brief PRESENTATION on the historical and social significance of our current production;\n\n\n\na BACKSTAGE TOUR featuring a visit to our scenic shop\, paint shop\, prop shop and costume shop;\n\n\n\na brief visit to a functioning REHEARSAL; and\n\n\n\na Q&A with various designers\, technicians\, actors and musicians.\n\n\n\n\nThis event is open to all audiences and ages with a flexible and accessible pay-what-you-can entrance fee. Our suggested amount is $10 per person\, but with the pay-what-can feature\, you pay any amount that suits your budget. Seriously\, the power is all in your hands. Known for their seamless collaboration and expressive musicianship\, cellist Kimberly Patterson and guitarist Patrick Sutton present a dynamic program highlighting the richness and versatility of the guitar and cello through contemporary works by Stephen Goss\, Raffaele Bellafronte\, Mathias Duplessy and Atanas Ourkouzounov. \n\n\n\nBlending precision\, nuance and engaging musical dialogue\, the program traverses a vivid range of musical landscapes — from the lyrical and contrasting movements of Goss’ Preludes or Postludes and Bellafronte’s rhythmically charged Suite No. 1 for Cello and Guitar to the dreamlike character of Duplessy’s Sonata for Guitar and Cello in Four Dreams and the energetic flair of Ourkouzounov’s Bulgarian Rock.
