SUMMARY:Our Town
DESCRIPTION:Glaize Studio Theatre\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGlaize Studio Theatre \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday\, March 26 at 7:30PMFriday\, March 27 at 7:30PMSaturday\, March 28 at 2:30PMSaturday\, March 28 at 7:30PMSunday\, March 29 at 2:30PMSunday\, March 29 at 7:30PM \n\n\n\nWritten by Thornton Wilder \n\n\n\nDirected by Kirsten Trump \n\n\n\nHailed by The New York Times as “Thornton Wilder’s masterpiece\,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town is a timeless American classic that continues to move audiences with its power and depth. Praised by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written\,” this beautifully simple and profound drama — directed by Kirsten Trump — brings the small town of Grover’s Corners to life in three unforgettable acts: “Daily Life\,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” \n\n\n\nWilder broke through many theatrical conventions of the day in his study of the human experience. His concept asks the audience to use its own imagination\, as the play strips away traditional scenic elements and introduces the use of a narrator to guide us through this enchanting and familiar tale. We are reminded\, once again\, how precious and beautiful our time here on earth truly is. \n\n\n\nSuggested Show Rating: PG \n\n\n\nThis production explores death and dying\, pregnancy and childbirth. The performance also includes theatrical haze and fog\, as well as flashing and strobe lighting effects. Please be aware that our actors make full use of the space\, including the aisles and other audience spaces. Contact the Box Office for more information. \n\n\n\n\nDigital Program\n\n\n\nShenandoah Conservatory uses digital programs for all performances. In addition to their engaging and accessible design\, digital programs are cost effective\, environmentally friendly and enable us to create and update our programs more efficiently\, which means we can focus our resources on the performances you love! SUMMARY:Actors From The London Stage
DESCRIPTION:Glaize Studio Theatre\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGlaize Studio Theatre \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday\, February 12 at 7:30PMFriday\, February 13 at 7:30PMSaturday\, February 14 at 2:30PMSaturday\, February 14 at 7:30PM ADDED PERFORMANCE! \n\n\n\nFive actors. One stage. Endless imagination. \n\n\n\nWitness Shakespeare as it was meant to be experienced — intimate\, immediate and alive. Founded in 1975\, Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) is one of the oldest and most respected touring Shakespeare companies in the world. With a mission rooted in simplicity at its finest\, AFTLS productions are a masterclass in theatrical ingenuity: five actors\, minimal props and costumes — just the power of language\, imagination and the shared magic between actor and audience. \n\n\n\nIn this dynamic staging of As You Like It\, the actors seamlessly inhabit multiple roles\, transforming themselves and the space around them to bring Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy to life. Expect disguise\, mistaken identity and unexpected romance\, all delivered with clarity\, wit and emotional depth. \n\n\n\nThis is not just Shakespeare performed; it’s Shakespeare unlocked. Whether you are a lifelong Shakespeare fan or discovering his work for the first time\, AFTLS offers a rare chance to connect deeply with the text and the timeless humanity within it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Performing Arts Live series is supported in part by funding from the Marion Park Lewis Foundation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis project was supported\, in part\, by the Virginia Commission for the Arts\, which receives support from the Virginia General Assembly. \n\n\n\n\nSupport Performing Arts Live\n\n\n\nPerforming Arts Live (PAL) is supported in part by the L.P. “Skip” and Anne Hughes Hill Visiting Artist Endowment\, honoring the legacy of L.P. “Skip” Hill and Anne Hughes Hill.
