Experience the artistry of Patterson\/Sutton Duo<\/a> in a captivating performance presented as part of this year\u2019s Shenandoah Guitar Festival. Known for their seamless collaboration and expressive musicianship, cellist Kimberly Patterson and guitarist Patrick Sutton present a dynamic program highlighting the richness and versatility of the guitar and cello through contemporary works by Stephen Goss, Raffaele Bellafronte, Mathias Duplessy and Atanas Ourkouzounov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blending precision, nuance and engaging musical dialogue, the program traverses a vivid range of musical landscapes \u2014 from the lyrical and contrasting movements of Goss\u2019 Preludes or Postludes<\/em> and Bellafronte\u2019s rhythmically charged Suite No. 1 for Cello and Guitar to the dreamlike character of Duplessy\u2019s Sonata for Guitar and Cello in Four Dreams<\/em> and the energetic flair of Ourkouzounov\u2019s Bulgarian Rock<\/em>. Together, Patterson and Sutton offer an evening of chamber music that is both intimate and compelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in its third year, the Shenandoah Guitar Festival is a gathering of students, enthusiasts and professionals in a celebration of the art of the guitar on the main campus of Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester. The festival brings together a vibrant community of performers, educators and audiences for concerts, masterclasses and collaborative experiences that highlight the versatility and artistry of the guitar.
