Dr. Jeremy Fox, Associate Professor for Pharmacy Practice (and PharmD Class of 2004) took part in a Wilderness First Responder course December 12-22 in North Carolina to earn his certification as a wilderness first responder. The goal of the course is for participants to make smart medical and evacuation decisions in remote wilderness locations. The course instructs participants in wilderness survival skills involving hands-on experiences and mock rescues. He learned how to manage wilderness injuries and trauma, poisonings, burns, bites and stings, and drowning.
The certification will aid in Dr. Fox’s sabbatical in fall 2016.
