Behind the Scenes of Santa Girl
Shenandoah University's Mass Communications Department and Capital Arts Entertainment have created a one-of-a-kind partnership between a film company and a university to co-produce the commercial film!
Shenandoah students served as crew (and often cast members) in the holiday tale about Santa's daughter, which filmed on Shenandoah's main campus and in the Winchester area in October and November 2017. Work on the movie continued at Shenandoah during the spring 2018 semester, as students handled post-production tasks, such as editing.
Shenandoah University co-produced “Santa Girl” starring Barry Bostwick and Jennifer Stone!
The film premiered for the 2019 holiday season.
Bostwick plays a slimmed-down and all-business Santa who hasn’t recovered from the loss of his wife, Mrs. Claus, with Stone playing his daughter. The story focuses on the daughter’s desire to attend college despite her father’s misgivings. After he eventually relents, she must navigate a strange new world while keeping the identity of her iconic father—and her own magic—a secret.
