Stephanie Vaughan is a native of Winchester, Virginia, and studied at James Wood High School, Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC), Virginia Tech, Shenandoah University, and currently attends the University of Phoenix. Stephanie served as Vice President her junior year and President her senior year of the student council association at James Wood HS. Stephanie earned her BS at Virginia Tech and MBA at Shenandoah University. She is currently enrolled in the DBA program at University of Phoenix where she is completing her dissertation that is a Delphi study to identify the leadership role of multi- stakeholders in closing the manufacturing skills gap. Part of Stephanie’s research has been with the Aspen Institute where she has written a white paper in conjunction with Dr. Tom Duesterberg entitled, “Manufacturing Skills Shortages and the Untapped Resource“.
A member of the Board of Directors at Fabritek Co., Inc. and Winchester Tool since 1980, she served on a steering committee for creating corporate leadership programs at LFCC based on her business experience. Other business experience includes starting the non-profit Habitat for Humanity in Winchester Virginia as a steering committee member. Following graduation from Shenandoah University with her MBA, Stephanie’s next entrepreneurial adventure was creating and running SPLASH! International, Inc. SPLASH is an online store that specializes in swimming, aquatic therapy, and water fitness products and services including swim lessons and aquatic fitness classes.
Stephanie participates in other business ventures as a consultant and works part time as Marketing Director at Fabritek and Winchester Tool, a networked modern industrial machine shop. Her recent political leadership includes Chair of the Winchester- Frederick County Democratic Committee and Director of the Shenandoah Valley Democratic Business Council, a new organization to promote democratic business owners and their businesses in the Shenandoah Valley. Stephanie recently was elected as the Winchester-Frederick County Representative for the 10th District Democratic Committee of Virginia.
Stephanie is married and is the proud mother of three children who are all college graduates: Carol (University of Miami, Georgetown University), Eva (Virginia Tech), and Robert (Old Dominion University).
