The Emergency Preparedness Instructional Center (EPIC) based at Shenandoah University uses role-playing scenarios and best-in-class instruction to train law enforcement, fire and rescue, and emergency medical personnel how to coordinate a cohesive and early to extreme situations such natural disasters and active shooter events. This style of training helps responders better handle the stress of an actual event, and teaches emergency personnel how to provide a tactical medical response allowing for treatment of the injured to prevent loss of life.
