After operating for more than a full year, the 77,000-square-foot James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center at Shenandoah University is an indispensable part of Shenandoah University and its surrounding communities, hosting University Commencement and Convocation, innumerable athletic contests, a performance by the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, our wellness-oriented Mindful Morning, a host of Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival events, and a gala that raised $1 million for student scholarships. At Homecoming 2018, the unveiling of a one-ton bronze statue of our Shenandoah mascot, Buzzy D. Hornet, occurred right outside the center’s doors. Feel the buzz!
