Shenandoah Christmas – Grateful for You – 2018

Dear members of our Shenandoah University community, The holiday season has arrived, and we’re thinking about all we’re grateful for here at Shenandoah.

The list is long, and it begins with every single one of you.

You, who keep the university looking beautiful and operating well;

You, who teach our students and prepare them for careers and lives of purpose;

and You, who grew in ways you never imagined at Shenandoah, and, in the process, acquired a university family that will be there for you, anytime, anywhere, for the rest of your life.

We are grateful for all the people who make Shenandoah the extraordinary place it is.

We are grateful for those whose vision brought us the much-longed-for James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center, which opened this year;

To those who have shepherded new programs designed to even better position students to develop skills they’ll use to weather the changes of a lifetime;

To those who have generously given their time and provided the university with gifts that allow us to build new spaces for living and learning;

And, of course, to those of you who have brought your energy, creativity and curiosity here as you study and prepare for the future.

We are profoundly grateful – I am profoundly grateful – for all of you, because YOU are Shenandoah.

And together, we are Shenandoah: Proudly different. Audacious. Creative. Exciting. Always striving. Always growing. Always grateful.

Wishing you the merriest Christmas and happiest New Year. In joy and gratitude,

Tracy Fitzsimmons, Ph.D.
