Shenandoah University’s mass communication department and Capital Arts Entertainment have created a one-of-a-kind partnership between a film company and a university to co-produce the commercial film, “Santa Girl,” starring Jennifer Stone (“Wizards of Waverly Place”), Barry Bostwick (“The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “Spin City,” and the original Broadway cast of “Grease”) and Devon Werkheiser (“Ned’s Declassified.) Shenandoah students served as crew (and often cast members) in the holiday tale about Santa’s daughter, which filmed on Shenandoah’s main campus and in the Winchester area in October and November 2017. Work on the movie will continue at Shenandoah during the spring 2018 semester, as students handle post-production tasks, such as editing.
