World of the Piano
Irish pianist Barry Douglas launched his international career after winning the Gold Medal at the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow. Since then, he has presented an array of solo recitals (most recently in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Armenia, Mexico and the United States) and performed with major symphony orchestras from around the world, including the Ulster Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic, Prague Symphony, Belgrade Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony, London Symphony, Russian National, Cincinnati Symphony, Singapore Symphony, Berlin Radio Symphony and more. Douglas is an exclusive Chandos recording artist and recently completed recording the full works for solo piano of Brahms, the six albums of which have received much critical praise.
