Dance Ensemble

Dancin’ Out

Friday, March 27 Sunday, March 29

Friday, March 27 at 7:30PM
Saturday, March 28 at 7:30PM
Sunday, March 29 at 2:30PM

Celebrate an evening of bold, original dance as Shenandoah’s Dance Ensemble brings a dynamic range of movement styles to the stage. Blending contemporary, commercial and modern forms, the program highlights the versatility and artistry of our dancers through works by faculty choreographers Lindsay Browning, Tiffanie Carson, Ben Howard and Katherine Zukeri, alongside alumna Maggie DeFrees ’23 (B.A. in Dance, B.F.A. in Theatre Design & Production – Scenic Design).

From the pulsing, high-energy world of Carson’s DRIP — where rave culture and house dance collide in a celebration of chaos and unity — to Browning’s reflective and poetic The Path Beneath Our Feet, the performance invites audiences into a rich landscape of connection, memory and human experience. Howard’s Elegos offers a haunting meditation on grief and resilience, and DeFrees’ RE: Versed explores time, perspective and the cyclical nature of growth. Bringing the program to a vibrant close, Disco’s Revenge delivers a bold, high-octane finale, channeling the infectious energy and spirit of the dance floor into a thrilling contemporary work that leaves audiences energized and exhilarated.

Together, these works create a compelling journey — visceral, thoughtful and deeply expressive — showcasing the power of dance to move, challenge and inspire.
