Appalachian Chamber Music Festival presents Elevation
Inspired by lofty places, Appalachian Chamber Music Festival presents Elevation, a powerful program inspired by the view from above. Featuring strings, flute, clarinet, bassoon and horn, the program begins with the regal Beethoven horn sextet before venturing into works by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw. The second half of the program features the American premiere of Paul Frost’s Elevation for string ensemble and solo violin, featuring Welsh violinist Martin Gwilym-Jones; and culminates with Igor Stravinsky’s Dumbarton Oaks, written for the historic home of the same name in Washington, D.C.
Visit the Appalachian Chamber Music Festival website for tickets and a complete schedule of festival events.
