Women Drummers of Rwanda
with Odile Gakire “Kiki” Katese
The internationally acclaimed Women Drummers of Rwanda joins writer and activist Odile Gakire “Kiki” Katese to present an educational concert featuring the sounds of Rwanda. The artists are visiting campus as part of a U.S. tour for The Book of Life, a theatrical work based on letters written by the survivors and perpetrators of Rwanda’s genocide — ordinary people, addressed to those who are gone.
Performances of The Book of Life at Shenandoah University will be presented at 7:30PM in Glaize Studio Theatre on Tuesday, September 19 and Wednesday, September 20 at 7:30PM.
