Lean In & Engage
Q: What are students learning or experiencing through this process?
Through exploring nature-themed music across genres, time periods and cultures, our students are developing cultural awareness, historical understanding, environmental consciousness, rehearsal techniques and music literacy skills. They also enhance their appreciation for artistic expression and creativity.”
– Richard W. Robbins, director
Q: What excites you about working on this program?
What excites me about working on this program is witnessing our students engage with music across a wide array of genres, from folk songs and spirituals to modern compositions, as well as tackling the challenge of managing a major work like Amy Beach’s The Canticle of the Sun.”
– Richard W. Robbins, director
Q: What are you excited about for audiences to experience?
I’m excited for audiences to experience our students’ exploration of nature from various perspectives, and to witness the celebration of a year’s worth of musical growth in our students.”
