Young and impulsive, Natasha Rostova arrives to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines. When she falls under the spell of the roguish Anatole, a chain of choices sets lives on a collision course, leaving Pierre — a searching soul caught in an existential crisis — to help make sense of the wreckage.

Guest directed and choreographed by Reed Luplau of the original Broadway cast, this bold new production reimagines the musical not as a story set in imperial Russia, but within the fractured psyche of a civilization being erased in real time. Against a sterile, modern landscape, the characters’ inner lives erupt into view as hidden desires, fears and obsessions literally stain the world around them with the raw energy and rebellious spirit of 1980s punk culture. Blurring the boundaries between memory, fantasy and reality, this visually striking interpretation transforms Malloy’s acclaimed musical into a thrilling exploration of identity, longing and human connection.
