Rising Stars of Shenandoah

Rising Stars of Shenandoah celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of Shenandoah Conservatory’s emerging artists in an inspiring evening of concerto and operatic favorites. Joined by the Symphony Orchestra, outstanding student soloists take center stage in performances that showcase exceptional artistry, technical excellence and musical expression.

The program features pianist Andrew Wood in the electrifying first movement of Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, saxophonist Wentao Luan in Henri Tomasi’s expressive Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra and soprano Morna Chenchen Hu in the spirited smugglers’ ensemble from Georges Bizet’s Carmen. The evening concludes with Joaquín Rodrigo’s beloved Concierto de Aranjuez, featuring acclaimed guitarist and Shenandoah Conservatory faculty member Colin Davin.
