Dear Alumni and Friends,
On March 30, 2017, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for a permanent exhibit on Shenandoah College & Shenandoah Conservatory of Music at the Heritage Museum in Dayton, Virginia. This exhibit focuses on the people, places, music and life of the Dayton campus during the first 85 years of our history, 1875 – 1960. The exhibit includes a touchscreen with music and stories told by Dayton alumni, a reproduction of the original campus sign, artifacts commemorating the Dayton years and a photo montage. We invite you to tour the museum and see a part of your history!
Shenandoah’s first Day of Giving was held in the spring of 2016. This day-long event, primarily conducted through web and social media channels, is designed to increase donor acquisition and alumni participation.
– The 2017 Day of Giving is scheduled for April 27 and is focused on increasing all constituent giving participation with an overall goal of $20,000.
– This year we are utilizing a new digital platform that will allow alumni and donors to share their support via social media and engagement.

Over 600 alumni have participated in events during Fiscal Year 2017. At the end of March, we hosted the Conservatory Alumni Reunion and Dayton Alumni Weekend. Even with the aging Dayton alumni population, over 100 people attended their celebration luncheon. Trustees Dick Morin and Keith May have participated in the Dayton reunion for the last four years.
I hope to see you soon!
