Dear Alumni,
Spring has sprung, the trees are blooming, the flowers are flourishing, our campus is lush and Shenandoah students are graduating! Do you remember your graduation? The class of 1992 graduated on the football field at John Handley High School. My family celebrated with dinner at Cork Street Tavern. It was not until the end of the day that my dear dad realized he neglected to put film in the camera, but I have priceless memories.
As the president, I represent the Alumni Board on the Board of Trustees. During our spring meeting, I found out about a collaboration between degree programs that enhances a student’s learning experience. They are exploring the intersection of different areas such as applied technology/engineering, augmented reality/virtual reality, immersive learning, contemporary opera, dance, film studies, instrumental music, sports management, and women’s lacrosse. It is amazing work that makes me wonder, what is next? What other areas can we explore to improve ourselves and produce better outcomes? If you are interested in learning more or contributing in any way, let me know. It is an exciting opportunity to help share Shenandoah’s story.
The Shenandoah of today is not the same university I graduated from (without any photos to prove it) more than 30 years ago. This university is getting better and better, as did my dad’s photography skills. Shenandoah is a big little university rising, and I look forward to seeing what is next!
Warm Regards,
Anne
