Dual Degree Physical Therapy/Athletic Training
Applications for Shenandoah University’s Dual Degree DPT/MS AT must be submitted through the Physical Therapy Centralized Application System and Shenandoah’s dual degree supplemental application.

Application Steps
If applying to the MSAT/DPT dual degree program, you must complete the following:
- PTCAS application by October 1, 2025
- Shenandoah’s Dual Degree Supplemental Application
- On the “Application Information” tab select: “I am an applicant in PTCAS, also applying to the MSAT program”
- Select program of study: “Athletic Training – MS”
- Select start term: “Summer 2026”
- Complete the rest of the application form and submit. Please make sure you also submit a PTCAS application – both this supplemental application and a PTCAS application are required to be considered for the dual degree program.
- The Shenandoah Graduate Dual Degree Supplemental Application requires the following items in addition to PTCAS requirements:
- Essay (3-5 pages, double-spaced) answering the following questions:
- What specifically interests you about attending SU for the Dual AT/PTdegree?
- What qualities do you have that will set you apart from other applicants?
- What are your career goals upon completion of the dual degree?
- Applicants can also address any deficiencies (if applicable) in their application
- List of Athletic Training Experiences
- A list of all sports that you have participated in, as an athlete: Coach, Referee, Manager, or Athletic Training Student
- One Athletic Training Recommendation Letter (from a certified athletic trainer, coach, employer, or professor)
