Dual Degree Physical Therapy/Athletic Training

Applications for Shenandoah University’s Dual Degree DPT/MS AT must be submitted through the Physical Therapy Centralized Application System and Shenandoah’s dual degree supplemental application.

Application Steps

If applying to the MSAT/DPT dual degree program, you must complete the following:

  • PTCAS application by October 1, 2025
  • Shenandoah’s Dual Degree Supplemental Application
    • On the “Application Information” tab select: “I am an applicant in PTCAS, also applying to the MSAT program”
    • Select program of study: “Athletic Training – MS”
    • Select start term: “Summer 2026” 
    • Complete the rest of the application form and submit. Please make sure you also submit a PTCAS application – both this supplemental application and a PTCAS application are required to be considered for the dual degree program.
  • The Shenandoah Graduate Dual Degree Supplemental Application requires the following items in addition to PTCAS requirements:
  • Essay (3-5 pages, double-spaced) answering the following questions:
    • What specifically interests you about attending SU for the Dual AT/PTdegree?
    • What qualities do you have that will set you apart from other applicants?
    • What are your career goals upon completion of the dual degree?
    • Applicants can also address any deficiencies (if applicable) in their application
  • List of Athletic Training Experiences
    • A list of all sports that you have participated in, as an athlete: Coach, Referee, Manager, or Athletic Training Student
  • One Athletic Training Recommendation Letter (from a certified athletic trainer, coach, employer, or professor)
