Through giving, alumni show appreciation for their education, provide current and future students with a great SU experience and stay connected to their SU family. Alumni gifts strengthen the reputation of Shenandoah University, impacting the ability of alumni to obtain employment. A true indicator of SU pride is a willingness to support Shenandoah financially.
Did you know that colleges are ranked based on the number of alumni who donate to their alma mater? Participation matters! A high alumni giving percentage is an endorsement that Shenandoah University is a worthy place to learn and deserving of your financial investment.
All donations add up to make a huge impact! Last academic year, The Shenandoah Fund raised over $1 million for our students. Annual alumni gifts of any amount count towards Shenandoah’s national ranking.
Gifts to The Shenandoah Fund go to work right away to help current students, as they are used in the same fiscal year that they are given to the university.
Steve Gober ’98 explains why he SUpports the athlete student experience. “Anything alums can do to give back, whether it’s time or money, is invaluable to those kids.”
It was nice to be rewarded for doing well academically. I am thankful that alumni and others give back to scholarships. It shows that they believe in the next generation. Even though I may not know donors personally, their donation shows that they believe in me.

I wanted to help the university to support departments that are doing great things for mankind. Shenandoah gave us an opportunity and now it’s time to see what we can do for Shenandoah.

We gave our annual gift last year and learned that it counted as two alumni gifts. It’s encouraging to know that our one gift as a couple helps to increase our alma mater’s participation rates, which is SO important for the future of our school.
