Dear Alumni and Friends,
March is here and it’s time to spring forward! Our days will soon be filled with more daylight and warm weather. I don’t know about you; but, I feel like I have been hibernating all winter and I can’t wait to get out and see what is happening on campus at SU. If you haven’t been to campus in a while or attended an event, now is your chance with the upcoming Dayton Alumni Weekend, March 31-April 2 and the Conservatory Alumni Reunion (CAR) Weekend on April 1-2.
Invite your classmates and friends to join you in viewing the Event Calendar and register for activities such as the Dayton Memorial Service, the Dayton Society Luncheon or the Celebration Luncheon where Rising Star Alumni, Alumni of Excellence and reunion classes are recognized. Also, be sure to include performances, like the Jazz Concert and “Dayton’s Got Talent.” If you are still looking for a cure to your spring fever, be sure to attend the “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere” mixer.
Since it is getting warmer outside and there is a change in the air, I recently made a change myself…a job change. I am now the Director of Human Resources for Frederick County, Virginia. I feel so blessed to be able to work in the community that I live. SU has played an instrumental role in my career and I, like many of you, am thankful for the education that I received at SU. So, while on campus, stop by the bookstore and pick up a few items to show your pride and be recognized as part of the Alumni Association.
I encourage each of you to take time to connect with your alma mater.
I hope to see you soon!
